Angie Gardea presents the treasurer’s report and asks the membership if they have any questions. Jimmy Macareno asks about the ‘Good and Welfare’ line in the report. A. Gardea explains the expenses have been spent on charitable donations–she said she would look into it and would email him later.

L. Plum explains what Article 15 is, shares that Luukia Smith and Gary Turner came out of that meeting feeling good about our stance in arbitration with the district. Arbitrators will be preparing their reports—they have until March 30th to submit the report.
The new fiscal year for the budget begins October 1st. L. Smith informs the membership that the only expenses thus far have been food for the general membership meetings and travel expenses for Cindy Lopez to attend a conference.
Gary Turner discusses arbitration and explains to the members that the Nov. 10th meeting was postponed to Dec. 17th. He explains that the COLA has increased to 1.02% and albeit a small difference, it is clearly stated in the contract that the benefits cap should be increased based on COLA.
